To create your first Team Board navigate to Team -> Team boards and click on the button in the top right corner.
Give your Board a meaningful name, define a prefix (used for Tasks ID’s), select a methodology, the Product Owner and the Scrum Master. Once you’re done click on save. You should now see the agile board in the list.
Open an agile board by clicking on the title and create your first backlog item by clicking the create new task in the top right corner.
Now fill all fields. You can also assign items to epics (see Fill your product backlog & start a PI planning) and components (see below). Once you’re done, click on save. You should now see the item in the backlog.
Click on an item title to open the details view. You can edit all fields by clicking on them. The changes will be automatically saved and updated.
In the details view you can also see all related subtasks (see Start a Sprint Planning) and add comments.
To create components, navigate to Components in the top navigation and click on create at the top right corner.
Done. Now you can start your first Sprint Planning.
To start a Sprint Planning first create a new sprint by clicking Create Sprint in the top right corner of your Agile Board Backlog. Drag and drop all the items you need from backlog to the sprint.
Now start creating subtasks for each story. We’ve already prepared one for you. To edit the name, assign it to a team member and set a time estimation, just click on the arrow and then on the fields you want to edit. Note: only the original estimation can be edited.
To add more tasks click on the + in the top right corner.
Once you’ve finished your Planning you can start the sprint. Navigate to the backlog and click on start sprint.
In the popup you can change the name and the duration of the sprint and define a sprint goal which everyone can focus on. Click Start sprint again to finally start the sprint.
Your team is now ready to start off!
Once a sprint is started your team can work with the Active Sprint Board (top navigation).
To track the status of subtasks just expand the Story and move the subtask you’re working on to the In progress column.
The status of the Story will be automatically updated. Next to the Status you can also define a status reason.
To track the time of each subtask, click on the button and set the spent time in the popup. The remaining time will be calculated automatically, but you can also edit it.
To see the burndown chart and other sprint stats, navigate to dashboard in the top navigation.
To close a sprint just click on the button in the top right corner of your agile board backlog.
If your team hasn’t finished all items, you can now decide what to do with each. By default, they will be moved to the next sprint, but you can also close them or move them to the backlog.
If your team has finished all items, you can just confirm it. Congratulations, your team has successfully completed a sprint!
Now you’re ready to start a new sprint.
